Penis Gazing: When Was the Last Time You Really Looked at Your Penis?
What if the relationship you have with your penis influences the way you experience pleasure, confidence, and intimacy?
Last week, I guided the men in The Warrior's Calling through a live Penis Gazing practice, and what they shared afterward touched me.
One Warrior, a pelvic floor physician who has been practicing medicine for 30 years, told us that the experience felt strange and emotional. He realized he hadn't really looked at his own penis since he was 16 years old!
Another man shared how difficult it was for him to truly connect with his penis.
Think about that for a moment.
You spend your entire life with your penis. You touch him, wash him, masturbate, have sex with him, worry about his erections, and sometimes judge his appearance. But how often do you actually take the time to look at him, get to know him, and appreciate him?
And what might you discover if you did?
What Is Penis Gazing?
Penis Gazing is a contemplative Tantric meditation that invites a man to bring his full attention and awareness to his penis.
It is not a masturbation practice, nor is it about achieving an erection or experiencing an orgasm.
Just as you might meditate while observing your breath, a candle flame, or sensations in your body, Penis Gazing invites you to make your penis the focus of your meditation.
You observe him through a mirror, allowing yourself to see him without needing him to do anything.
As you gaze, you may begin to notice thoughts, emotions, memories, beliefs, and judgments arising.
Perhaps you feel pride and affection. Perhaps you notice disappointment about his appearance, frustration with his erections, or memories of sexual experiences that left you feeling inadequate.
You might even discover that looking at your penis without touching him feels uncomfortable or unfamiliar.
There is no right or wrong experience.
The intention is to become aware of the relationship you have developed with this intimate part of yourself.

What Kind of Relationship Do You Have With Your Penis?
I often invite men to consider their penis as more than a sexual organ. It's an Oracle.
Your penis has been with you since birth. He has accompanied you through puberty, your first erections, your earliest sexual discoveries, your intimate relationships, and every stage of your sexual life.
He may have been a source of tremendous pleasure, excitement, and confidence.
He may also have been a source of worry, shame, embarrassment, or disappointment.
And over time, these experiences can influence the way you feel about him.
When a man struggles with his erections, for example, he may begin to distrust his penis, become frustrated with him, or feel betrayed by his own body.
When he compares his size or appearance to other men, he may develop judgments that make it difficult to appreciate his own anatomy.
And when sexuality becomes focused primarily on performance, he may lose touch with the pleasure of simply being present in his body.
How can you develop a loving, trusting relationship with a part of yourself that you continually judge, criticize, or demand something from?
This is one of the questions I invite men to explore through Penis Gazing.
Two Ways to Experience Penis Gazing
I've created two guided Tantric meditations, each with a different intention.

1. Penis Gazing — Healing & Clearing
This is the meditation I recommend beginning with.
It offers an opportunity to explore the emotions, judgments, memories, and beliefs you may carry about your penis.
You may discover feelings you haven't acknowledged in years, or realize that you've been relating to your penis through expectations rather than appreciation.
The intention is to create space for awareness, emotional healing, and a more compassionate relationship with your body.

2. Penis Gazing — Devotional Mirror Practice
The second meditation is a devotional ritual dedicated to honoring your penis and cultivating appreciation for your sexual life force.
This is a practice you can return to regularly, even daily for seven days, as an intentional ritual of connection.
Imagine taking time each day to look at your penis with love, gratitude, curiosity, and reverence.
What might change in the way you feel about him? How might that influence the way you experience your own sexuality?
Both meditations are expressions of the same practice, with different intentions. You can explore them separately or together.
What Do You Need to Practice Penis Gazing?
You need a private, comfortable space where you won't be interrupted and a mirror positioned so you can see your penis without straining or having to hold it.
You can sit on your bed, on the floor, or wherever you feel comfortable, naked from the waist down.
I also recommend keeping a journal nearby to reflect on anything that arises afterward.
There is nothing your penis needs to do during this meditation. You simply allow yourself to be guided through the experience.
An Invitation to See Your Penis Differently
After guiding the Warriors through this practice, I was reminded of how unfamiliar it can be for a man to spend time with his penis without asking anything of him.
Even a physician who has spent decades working with the male pelvic floor can discover something new through the simple act of gazing at his own penis.
Knowing the anatomy and physiology of the penis is not the same as knowing the relationship you have with your own.
And perhaps that's where something beautiful can begin.
A relationship built on curiosity, appreciation, compassion, and trust.
Your penis is so much more than what he can do for you.
I invite you to discover what it feels like to truly see him.
